A photo that is not the background, it is the piece

When the photo is the piece, the text has exactly one problem: being readable. The answer is not bigger type or a box behind it, it is a scrim that rises from the bottom and fades out before it reaches the face. The photo stays whole and the text rests on the part that was already dark.

The focal point is declared on the piece, not on the crop: it says which part of the photo has to stay put when the image is cropped to another format. Without it, the same piece in 9:16 cuts the top of the head off and nobody finds out until it is out.

It is the piece the home page shows three times: scheduled on the calendar, building itself in the workshop section, and finished in the gallery. It is the same one.
