A word that does not translate
A vocabulary piece: one Japanese word set large, its translation below, and nothing else. Made with Kokoro Nikki’s concept-vocab template.

It is the barest layout Kokoro Nikki has: a word, its reading, and a translation that always falls short. It works because it competes with nothing — no photo, no background colour, no second idea fighting for the same room.
What keeps it on brand is not visible: the grey of the paper, the serif of the headline and the sign-off come from the brand kit, not from decisions made on this piece. The same template with another word comes out identical in everything else, and that is exactly what makes the tenth in the series recognizable from the first.
